35th Annual
This one's for you!: Sneak Peak at 2010 Program

We know the jobs of municipal clerk, deputy clerk, treasurer and administrator are hard. The job duties are complex and varied. And the rules are constantly changing.

Nebraska Clerk Institute and Academy sessions are designed with one goal in mind: to improve the quality of municipal operations by providing education, networking opportunities and a focused learning environment that supports your professional development goals and celebrates your unique role in municipal government.

This training is for you. And this year we have some exciting new speakers, some returning favorites and a few special guests!

Institute sessions at the beginning of the week include sessions on Enthusiasm for Public Service, Records Management, the Basic Duties of the Municipal Clerk, Communicating, Developing a Municipal Budget, Government Matters, the Municipal Government and the Nebraska Unicameral, Sales and Use Tax, and Dealing with Difficult People.

Then Institute participants will join the Academy participants to select from sessions on Wages & Hours Laws, Community Vision Statements, Census 2010, a Legislative Update, Grant Writing, Writing Job Descriptions, Ethnic and Cultural Identity in Nebraska and Why We Laugh.

And back by popular demand, Roundtables, lead by your fellow clerks.

Registration materials with more details will be distributed in mid-November. View the registration flier. Or you can register now online. Or you can print the registration form to mail in with your payment.
